Direct Vent Gas Stoves
Direct vent gas stoves are designed to mimic the look of a wood burning stove without all the hassle of wood. They are typically less expensive to install than gas fireplaces but are every bit as efficient as a heating source, even in the event of a power outage. Because of their more compact size they can often be installed in places not large enough to accommodate a gas fireplace. These gas stoves use a special type of vent pipe and can most easily be installed against an exterior wall with only a 2' interior vertical rise. Some smaller stoves can vent horizontally straight out the back. They can also be vented up through a roof or even into a masonry flue or fireplace. On a wood or tile floor these gas stoves do not require the use of hearth protection.
There are many styles and finishes available today from traditional to contemporary.
